Restorsea Skincare Review

By:

I was anxious to try this product line because I have read a lot about it in magazines and beauty sites.  Restorsea uses the Vibransea Complex in their products which comes from enzymes released in and around salmon hatching waters of Norway.  Free of parabens, phthalates, silicone, PEG’s, or mineral oil –  Restorsea is endorsed by Gwyneth Paltrow who seems very particular about what she ingests or applies to her skin.

The brand boasts discovering an ingredient which produces the same results on skin as glycolic acid or Retin A without the harsh side effects.  The creator noticed the youthful radiance of the salmon hatchers hands in the waters as opposed to the skin on their faces on a trip to Norway.

I received the 4 piece skincare set from Dr. Derick’s office to test.  The presentation and packaging is quite luxurious!  I use Retin A micro gel regularly and I decided to really give this product a true try and eliminate any exfoliating products from my regime.

After week one, my skin looked clear felt clean and hydrated.  I didn’t notice any breakouts, oiliness or irritation.    The cleanser rinses off nicely and skin feels clean and residue free.  The Renormalizing Serum is applied after the cleanser but before the Rejuvenating day cream.  Skin feels smooth and the product has a light but pleasant scent.  The Revitalizing Eye Cream is by far my favorite product in the set.  It has a rich texture but instantly evaporates on the skin.  I have quite an eye cream obsession and this one is definitely going into my favorites.

Week 2- wow my pores are clogged.  I tried to tough it out but I could see that my skin needed some exfoliation.     This could be because I tend to hold my oil build up in the nose and chin area.    I gave it another week, then caved and returned to my 3 times weekly Retin A Micro gel applications.

After 4 weeks of using this line I am pleasantly surprised at the results.  My T zone can get oily and aside from needing some additional exfoliation, this line did not irritate my skin or cause me to break out at all.   I used the day cream sparingly as it is very thick and a little goes a long way.

I love that a woman created this line based on such a unique observation.  With so many of the population getting irritation from harsh exfoliants, it is nice to know there are alternatives available.
