  • Medical dermatology: Treatments to alleviate a variety of medical conditions such as acne, acne scars, skin rashes, warts, moles, cysts, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, lesions and skin cancer for patients of any age.
  • Surgical dermatology: Surgical procedures to improve the skin’s appearance and health. Most dermatologic surgeries are minimally invasive procedures like removing moles. If a patient requires more advanced surgery for skin cancer, Derick Dermatology has in-house specialists called Mohs surgeons to diagnose the medical condition and treat the patient with micrographic surgery or regular excisions.
  • Cosmetic dermatology: Comprehensive cosmetic treatments, including:

A Perfect Fit

Derick Dermatology will fit right into the Skokie community. With a passion for people, we treat our patients like family. Our team constantly strives to provide premier dermatological care, through state-of-the-art technology, continuing education in emerging procedures and techniques, and a personal, caring touch.

One way Derick Dermatology is showing its commitment to the communities it serves is by staying open and complying with all necessary sanitation guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. To ensure our patients are able to continue receiving the world-class dermatological care they expect and deserve, all patient-facing staff are wearing CDC-recommended masks, glasses, and other appropriate protective equipment, and surfaces are regularly wiped with disinfectant. In an additional effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 while still accommodating your needs, we are offering telemedicine appointments, which are covered by insurance per Governor Pritzker’s March 29, 2020 executive order.

Telemedicine appointments are convenient, safe and effective. Scheduling a teledermatology visit is fast and easy at Derick Dermatology through our telehealth appointment request form. During your appointment, you will chat live with a professional without ever leaving the comfort of your home, helping keep you and our staff safer. As an added bonus, teledermatology appointments eliminate time taken out of your day to travel to and from your appointment, and allow you to avoid the waiting room entirely. If you have concerns that a telederm appointment would be less thorough than an in-office visit, rest assured that for many patients, telemedicine can be just as effective as traditional appointments. A 2018 study by the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California found that psoriasis patients who used telehealth technologies had about the same outcomes as those who went to see dermatologists in person.

We know how stress can affect your overall health, including the health of your skin, and in a lot of ways, 2020 has been a particularly stressful year. That’s why it’s more important than ever that we offer our patients what they need, expect and deserve from us — and we couldn’t be more excited to do just that for the residents of Skokie.

Helping children develop positive skin care habits at an early age will help ensure those same habits are carried into adulthood, giving them the opportunity to enjoy beautiful skin for decades to come.
