Another no-no is using a washcloth and scrubbing the delicate skin of your face – use your fingertips instead. Using water that is too hot may feel good, but it can cause blood vessels to dilate and delicate tissues to break. Water that is too hot also deteriorates and can remove the oil barrier your skin needs to keep your skin healthy – which may cause flaking and itching as your skin dries out.
